The objective of Single Mom’s Mindset Development is to empower single mothers to overcome life’s challenges by combining proven principles of mindset growth with faith in Jesus Christ. Through biannual gatherings and ongoing weekly mastermind groups, we provide support, accountability, and Christ-centered guidance that equips single moms to pursue their goals, raise children grounded in strong mindsets and faith, and build fulfilling, successful lives.
The Single Mom Mindset Development group grew from a desire to help families. There was no specific agenda, just a desire to provide support. John Harr Sr., his family, and a few friends met on two separate occasions at the Harr Family Ranch located in the mountains between Koosharem and Loa, Utah. They discussed possible plans for implementing a program that would focus on 5 topics: Emotional Support/Self-Care, Help with raising children, Finance, Time Management/Goal Setting and Community Involvement. During these discussions the focus shifted from families to Single Mother’s.
A complimentary retreat at the Harr Family Ranch in October 2020 allowed participants the opportunity to meet with the board members to focus on the itinerary. Weekly Mastermind groups were implemented, as were accountability and minimum standards to ensure success of the program. The goal was to use time-tested patterns of success to help single mother’s not just to survive but to thrive!
Since launching our very first Single Moms Retreat in 2020, we have proudly hosted an annual gathering each June at the beautiful Harr Family Ranch. These retreats have become a life-changing tradition for our community — a place where single mothers can step away from survival mode, reconnect with their purpose, and experience deep healing, support, and belonging.
We are thrilled to continue this tradition and are already preparing for our next retreat in June 2026. Each year, space fills quickly, and we encourage moms to apply now to be considered for this transformative experience.
In addition to our summer retreats, we have also incorporated a second annual event: our January Alumni Retreat. This overnight gathering takes place in Northern Utah and brings together moms who have already been through our program. It features a formal dinner, professional makeovers, uplifting workshops, motivational speakers, and meaningful time for moms to reconnect, bond, and support one another. This mid-year touchpoint has become a powerful way to continue the momentum, foster community, and remind our moms that they are not walking this journey alone.
At Single Moms Mindset Development, we remain deeply committed — not just interested — in the ongoing growth, confidence, faith, and long-term success of every single mother we serve. Our mission is alive and expanding, and we are excited for all that lies ahead.
