Story of the Harr Family Ranch
While raising their six children, John and Janet Harr placed great emphasis on developing strong and loving relationships. As their family matured and expanded, their dream was to provide a place where their posterity could go and continue cultivating lasting connections. They searched for property for over 2 years until they found the perfect location in 1996 at Fish Lake in Utah. They spent several more years planning and crafting their dream together. Progress was delayed as they served an LDS mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, and soon after their return, development was interrupted again as John underwent a heart and kidney transplant. During that same period, Janet fought a battle with breast cancer. With great determination and effort, their goal was finally achieved in 2008. It is now known as, “The Harr Family Ranch”!
Janet was blessed to see the realization of their dream and to witness the joy and laughter of her 39 grandchildren as they experienced everything that the ranch had to offer. She and John shared their last dance together at the ranch, surrounded by their posterity during their family reunion in July of 2009. She peacefully passed away the following month.
Throughout the past 25 years, their family has spent countless hours building bridges, roads, and fences, but most importantly, they have built cherished memories and relationships that will last forever.
They recognize their blessings in acquiring such a rare and unique haven for their family to learn and to grow close and desire to use the ranch as a forum for others to explore essential tools in building happy and productive families. The purpose of the, “Single Mom Mindset Development Group” is to provide helpful resources to single mothers by offering the hope, assistance and lift necessary to help them move forward in meeting their goals of a successful and happy life.
